Press release – End of the project Volunteering for Inclusion!

C.R.E.E.D. (Center for Economic Resources and Education for Development), in partnership with the Beyond Borders Association (Italy), Bonae Spei Association (Portugal) and Tinevo Development Limited (UK), implemented between 01.02.2018-31.01.2019 the project Volunteering for Inclusion! with the financial support of the European Commission through the Erasmus Plus program, Key Action 1, managed by ANPCDEFP in Romania.
The main activity of the project was the youth exchange organized in Piatra Neamt between 2nd  and 11th of September 2018.
The main aim of the project was to reduce the risk of social exclusion among young people with fewer opportunities from Romania, the United Kingdom, Italy and Portugal.
The specific objectives of this project were:
·      To empower 21 young people aged 15-30 years old from the 4 participating countries to volunteer within projects that have as target group vulnerable young people during the 10 days of the YE.
·       To teach 21 young people aged 15-30 years old attending the youth exchange how to approach and cooperate with vulnerable groups of people during the 10 days of the YE.
·       To collect good examples of inclusion activities/projects that can serve as inspiration for the 21 young people aged 15-30 years old participating in the project.
During the youth exchange were organised sessions on topics such as social inclusion, volunteering, opportunities for young people with fewer opportunities, examples of good practices in social inclusion, tolerance, diversity as an opportunity, opportunities for young people with few opportunities, etc.
The participants had the opportunity to learn about the activities regarding the social inclusion of socially excluded persons organized in Piatra Neamt by the Social Assistance Directorate of Piatra Neamt Municipality, methods and techniques of social inclusion used within the Spiru Haret Technological Highschool as well as the testimonials of 2 persons who have experience in social inclusion.
The language used to communicate during the youth exchange was English, so one of the most important results of the project was the improvement of the communication skills in an international language.
Among the impact of the project on the participants, we mention that they have improved their knowledge regarding volunteering, have realized the importance of getting involved in social activities and the importance of the social inclusion of socially excluded people.

Following the presentation of the personal and professional development opportunities, their motivation to participate in educational activities (formal / non-formal) organized within the Erasmus Plus - youth exchanges, the European Solidarity Corps (International Volunteer Programme ), increased.
